I've been researching my family, all old New England lines with a few New York lines in there, and have never run up against a company as bad as Genealogy.com I had a Gold Membership with them which I was often unable to access as they did not recognize my logins. I tried dozens of times to get my user name and password e-mailed to me (they said I would get an e-mail within an hour) and it has not happened yet! I have e-mailed the company numerous times and get zero response. Please, do not spend your hard-earned money on this company! Avoid Ancestry.com as well, since they are under the same umbrella. They do not care for real genealogical research, only about separating you from your hard-earned money. Much of the info on the sites is either incomplete or just plain wrong. Documentation is poor and there are no standards for what is submitted and called "research." Customer service is an oxymoron as my experience proves. If you want a good deal, sign up with newenglandancestors.org (New England Historical and Genealogical Society) or Godfrey Library or a local society near you. Please do not sign up with Genealogy.com or any of its affiliates.
