About Our Family Research

When I was in Tanzania, East Africa serving 27 years as a missionary, my mom asked me to research her family because both her parents were orphans. So, I began in 2001 while still on the field where I had good internet to research my mom's side of the family. It was not easy but slowly I have gotten some confirmed info. Much of my grandfather's background is hard to trace because he was a foster child and left his home in his early years. But I got more excited about the puzzle pieces you can put together and find out more of the mysteries of research. Through my research I found a lot of information on my husband's side through using mostly Ancestery.com and Genealogy.com. I have also gone to Librarys, Historical Societies and Museums on line and found gobs of info too. It was fun searching my husband's side because I have found his lineage in full except the Irish info. My husband is a descendent of Joseph Mitchell Boyle of Kansas, son of James Boyle, of the Solomon Boyles of Somerset, New Jersey and the Duncans of Woodward, OK and Ellis County. I am a descendent of Papa Henderson-Sims from Lockney and Sherman, TX areas. My mother was a descendant of William J. Wyatt of Alabama and William Lewis Daniels of Alabama/Georgia. There is still much to do.

I have not attended any reunions but I do get some info from some of the Boyle contacts and other researches I have met on line. My biggest detour is the fact that many family members don't have the enthusiasm I have or the need to know their past but putting all the pieces of the puzzle together to complete the story of family backgrounds of past, is very exciting to me. Of course, some is sad and that is not always pleasant but I enjoy the research. I also decided I wanted to know more and get involved with other researchers to learn from them since I am still a baby in all of the ways of doing research. So, now for the next two years I will be president of the Historical Society in my community held in the local library. Libraries are great for help and research.
