About Our Family Research

My Family is From Maine, Mississippi, and Louisiana, however I'm
starting with my Maine ancestors, there is more info out there.

My Grandfather was Doctor in the city of New Orleans,La. His
mother was a Britget Hughes, and his father was a Capt. Thomas
O'reilly. They were married in New Orleans and had two sons
my grandfather William Thomas O'reilly and another named Thomas,
maybe ? Bridget Hughes came to America via Liverpool, England the
ship "Glennmana " Sailed under the English flag arr: in New Orleans
La. 12/16/1853, she was 18 yrs old, and alone. Her boys were
raised, as half orphans with the help of St. Mary's on Charters
Street in New Orleans. We are unable to find a birth record for
her or a marriage record in the records of Orleans Parrish.

W. T. O'reilly became a doctor met Mary Nock the daughter of one of
his instructors, Dr. Nock on Dr. Nock's plantation near Ft. Adams, Miss. They married and had 10 children, moved to New
Orleans, . Dr. O'reilly started his praticed, there and with
her dowery my Grandmother, Mary build the house for them on
Royal Street, which still stands, refrub, with the cut glass
front door, still bearing the OR of the family.

Now this all I really know about the Rebel, side of the family
and need a lot of help.

I grew up around the yankee part of my family and was able to
obsorb more history of the Hodgkins and Salisburys.
