Brileys, Parkers, Hunters and others from Sumner County, TN

Updated April 24, 2001

About Our Family Research

I'm quite fortunate in that my ancestors, both paternally and maternally, came to Sumner County, Tennessee and have stayed put for about 200 years! I am new to genealogy and I am indebted and very thankful to my grandmother in particular and to many "cousins" who have helped me learn more about my family.
The Brileys came to Sumner County from North Carolina prior to 1805 and settled along the Red River. The Parkers came to Sumner County from Virginia (now West Virginia) about 1790 and settled in the Greenfield and Bethpage area. The Hunters came to Sumner County from Virginia about 1806 and settled in Bethpage. We've been southerners a long, long time!
