Notes for Jóhannes Magnússon: the Almanac, 1916 - picture of Johannes and Gudlaugur.
1899 article about Johannes and Kristin Sigurbjornsdottir in the Almanac.
Jóhannes wrote several illuminated books, however, his descendants are unable to locate any of them. He kept them on a table in his living room for many years.
The house was two story. On the main floor to the left was a parlor with a pump organ. Upstairs were 4 bedrooms. The in the front left corner as you are looking at the house was Jóhannes and Kristin´s room. accross the hall and stairway to the right front corner was the nursery. The kitchen wasn´t added until a later date and it was the full width of the back of the house. There are two tall pines at the front of the property and they used to be directly in front of the front door. You would drive up to a fence, park in front of the two trees. There was no ditch then, and the road didn´t go to the water.
