Notes for Neil Cathcart: Aunt Mary, August 11, 2004
Elmer used to come down and do Neils books. Mary would ply him with pots of tea. He knew each and every place and who lived there. He would ask Mary to take him to the Barwick cemetary. He wanted to find Ray's plot and also Allen the adopted boy. In the Barwick church there is a record of Ray being there but no stone was ever put up.
Neil was barried in fort Frances.
They were speeding down the main street but the policeman was Laurie Sutton and when he heard Elwins name was Cathcart he did not write a ticket.
Her parents went there. Her father was in the airforce and he was stationed in Malta. They went to a byplane race and it was too much for her mother and she was born in the hotel
Neil and Mary were married in London December 24, 1945. Her parents lived in London then. He came home and 7 months later Mary got here. She only knew him 6 weeks and she wasn't sure she might find him. Neil had big blond curly hair. Ray had the red gold hair
