I am currently researching my husband any my families.
My family surnames include: Haywood, McGreevy, Byrne, Troy, Stevens...this is my paternal side and they are from Maryland and West Virginia, orignially from England and Ireland. Brauckhoff, Nelson, Austin, Mead(e) and Evans...the maternal side of my family is from Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. There is a family story that we are related to General George Gordon Meade...at one time the family had possession of one of his uniforms, a sword and the original land deed for Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It has been said that he was an uncle of one of my female relatives and the when she was a baby he dropped her and caused some kind of injury.
My husband's family surnames include: Brinser, Shaffer, Shafer...this side of the family is from Pennsylvania. Roberts, Thompson, Brady, Lowe, Curry and Sawyer his maternal side is from Key West, Florida and the Bahamas.
