I am searching both sides of my family genealogy. Harper-Kanode on my father's side, and Pruitt-Gillespie (and a few Stewarts) on my mother's side.

The Harpers are from Prince Edward County, VA, moving to TN between 1806 and 1809. They migrated to Williamson Co, TN. My GGF moved first to NC by way of MS and TX. He had a family there and moved them to Lexington, NC. He then moved to VA in the 1920's, and started a 2nd family in the Danville area.

The Kanodes are from the Christiansburg/Blacksburg, VA area.

The Pruitts settled the NC and VA borders from the mid-1800's.
We have had a lot of difficulty tracing this line of the family.

The Gillespie's are from the NC and VA borders as well. They trace back to the mid-1700's.

We are looking to find our heritage and document our ancestors.
I am fairly new at this whole process but am finding it interesting and exciting.
