I am in the process of documenting my family history. I am interested in meeting people with a common ancestry. Some of the links I am looking for include: Bridges, Clark, Crawford, Deason, Frizzell, Hammons,Ingraham, King, McAdams, Smith, St.John, Warren and Webb.
Thomas Ingram Bridges (8/8/1849 - 2/4/1890), my great-great-grandfather, is buried at the Old Jacksonville Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas. He came to Texas sometime between 1860 and 1880. He married Francis "Fannie" Smith, the daughter of Jackson Smith. Their son Robert Ingram Bridges was my great-grandfather. Records indicate that Thomas was a confederate soldier. Interesting, considering he was only 15 years old in 1864!
Arthur Walter Crawford (7/22/1916 - 3/22/1960), who is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler, Texas. He had a brother, John Crawford who lived in Corsicana, Texas. His wife was Alice Clark, who is also buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler. One of his sons, Otis Lloyd Crawford, was my grandfather.
Nathan Frizzell, Sr. (4/12/1730 - 1/12/1820), was married to Margaret Deason, the daughter of Captain William Deason. Their son, Nathan Jr., and Capt. Deason were Revolutionary War veterans. My great-grandfather, Joseph Burnett Frizzell, was a descendant of Nathan Frizzell, Sr. Joseph was the twin of a sister, Josephine Frizzell. Joseph is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler, Texas, along with his first wife Nancy Jane Elizabeth King, my great-grandmother, and his second wife Josey Rakestraw. Family rumor has it that the parents of Nathan Sr. were John Frizzell and Elizabeth Gale. The family supposedly came to America from Scotland.
Charles E. Ingraham (ca.1864 - ca.1915), my great-grandfather was married to Vera St.John, my great-grandmother. Her family was from Mt. Calm, Texas. He had a brother, Will Ingraham, of Malikoff, Texas. A carpenter by trade, Charles was working on a new school in Idabel, Oklahoma, when he passed away. He and Will were both Freemasons and may have been of Cherokee, sometimes called Black Dutch, ancestry.
John McAdams, Esquire (1757 - 11/11/1834), was born in County Down, Ireland and died in Abberville, South Carolina. He married Sarah Webb. He was a Revolutionary War veteran. His father and mother, John and Catherine, originally came from Scotland. He was the grandfather of Jane McAdams, my great-great-great-grandmother, who was married to Jackson Smith.
Jackson Smith (1/15/1814 - 2/1897), my great-great-great-grandfather, married Jane McAdams. Jackson was an Indian fighter, a membr of the Republic of Texas army, a confederate officer, a blacksmith and the founder of Jacksonville, Texas.
David Warren (12/18/1865 - 1/6/1906), my great-great-grandfather, was married to Martha Jane "Mattie" Hammons. The family has been in Cherokee County, Texas since the late 1800's. Their children were Oscar, Lyman, Emmitt, Pearla, and my great-grandmother Mary Etta. Mary was married to my great-grandfather, Robert Ingram Bridges.
I am interested in all possible linkages and will share what I have found with anyone who needs the information.
