I have traced my Midgley family tree back to Francis Midgley born in 1737, in Yorks, Yorkshire, England. I am now searching for my grandmother's family who were in Mirfield, Yorks, England. My grandmother was Margaret Anne Clarkson, who was orphaned early in her life and was brought up by two Aunties. She emigrated from Mirfield in 1903/04 to Canada where she met up with her fiance, Charles Midgley who had emigrated in 1902 from Yorks, England. My grandmother had an Uncle and Aunt who emigrated later, after 1904 to Canada by name of Mr. & Mrs. Willaim Britton. They lived in Alberta with my grandparents. He, Uncle William died in 1910 and was buried in High River, AB in 1911. The winter was very severe in Pekisko where the family were living so my grandfather buried Uncle William on his land until springtime came and he then moved the remains to High River where he was properly buried in High River Cemetery.
