I have been researching my father's family, the Lohr's of N.C. . Our ancestors came to thi s country in the mid 1700's, from Germany, the Palintinate. Grgrgrgrgandfather Valentine Lohr came to Lincoln Co, N.C. from Penn., after serving in the Revolutionary War. One of his sons was John, who married Charlotte 'Brinkle'.Charlotte and John had six children before John died in 1830(?)Charlotte and the four youngest children then moved to Davidson Co. to be near her parents, presumably. The four children were Solomon, Daniel, Eve,and Rebecca. Daniel Lohr is my ancestor. He married Sarah 'Sally' Sullivan. They also had several children, and Daniel also died young, at age 38. One his sons was Daniel Winfield, my grgrandfather. Another son, younger, was Robert, who became known as 'Bud'Lohr, I believe. Daniel married Keziah Rook in 1870, and moved from Davidson to Randolph Co. shortly after. They had ten children, the 2nd of these was my grandfather, Solomon Elias.
