I was born on 07/19/1939 in Tarrytown,NY the eighth child of Howard Brideau 06/15/1903 Berlin,NH and Alice Richard 06/11/1904 Tracadie Beach, N.B. Canada. In April 1999 I was given a gift from a friend ( FAMILY TREE MAKER ). I then started to research my surname, BRIDEAU. At this time I have entered over 8,100 names into the program. In addition I have started my own project of researching all persons born in North America with the surname BRIDEAU. I have recorded some 1,200 names and entered them into my Excel 97 program. On 07/31/2001 I will be retiring from 34 years as a Police Officer and will spend my time learning how to research my surname and compiling all my findings and then contributing the results into my personal Excel program and any and all internet programs that will accept my contributions. I will be happy to share everything I find with any interested person that request it. This can be done over the internet when I learn how to send it out. I will also be happy to print out on hard copy my information in any form someone should request. I will never charge anyone for this information but will require reimbursment for printing and mailing of material. I will also be very interested in obtaining any information pertaining to persons with my surname BRIDEAU. I believe most persons with the surname BRIDEAU know that they are decendents of JEAN BRIDEAU Abt.1657 Mt. Morency, FR. He immigrated to New France and landed in Quebec,PQ at the age of 19 and soon married Marie Crete. They settled on Ile du Orleans, PQ and most if not all persons with the surname BRIDEAU found in North America are decendents of this marrage. I will look forward to any inquires and more then happy to respond and share interest in our mutual efforts in researching the BRIDEAU history. Thank You
