My name is Shameika Brice and I am from Rayville, La. My family background is the Collins family and the Brice family. My grandparents are Leon and Emmeline Brice. My grandfather is Leon Brice and grandmother is Emmeline Collins. I dont know much about my grandfathers side of the family except they were from Arcadia, Louisiana. I think his mothers name was Dora Brice and father that raised him was named Pomp Brice. According to my aunts, my grandfather and his brother Willie were the children of a white man named Mr. Frank Dance.
I know a little bit more about my grandmothers side of the family. Her father was Frank Collins and he married Ada Chapman. Their children were Pearlie, John Collins, Will Collins, Sis Collins, Lillie Mae Collins, Elsie Collins, Joe C. Collins, Emmeline Collins, Henry Collins and another brother. They were from Mississippi and moved to Louisiana. Mr. Frank and Ada resided in Rayville Louisiana but had family in Mangham La. Mr. Frank was a very successful farmer. So i have been told. Mr. Frank is buried in Mangham Louisiana at Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
I am seeking information pertaining to Leon Brice, Pomp Brice, Dora Brice, Frank Dance, Frank Collins, and Ada Chapman.
