The John Dutton Thoms Family of Waterbury, CT

Updated July 13, 2001

About Our Family Research

I began my research at Riverside Cemetary where my parents and ancestors are buried. The cemetary is absolutely beautiful, a national historic cemetary with about 68 acreas of land. What I do know so far is that my great grandfather, Judge William E Thoms (Democrat)was also mayor of Waterbury, Ct from January 1906-January 3, 1910. He also ran for Governor of Connecticut. (see photo).

My grandfather, John Dutton Thoms had his own law firm in the Lilly Building in Waterbury. My grandparents resided at 616 Willow Street in Waterbury, Ct.

My father, John Dutton Thoms Jr, Grandfather John Dutton Thoms and my Great Grandfather were all graduates of Yale University.
