My Great Grandfather Jackson Madison Brown moved to MS in 1836 by following a wagon train from Spartanburg District, SC(another record shows Edgefield Districe, SC) where he was born 4 March 1816. Two older brothers, Warren and Martin moved out of SC about the same time (1836). Jackson Madison Brown married Lucy Mansfield Ferguson in 1849. They had the following children, all born in MS: Mary (Mollie) (1849-1911);William M.(Bill)(1851-1938);Eliza (1854-1850?);James Edwin (MY Grandfather)1856-1932;Mariner (1859-1944);Della (about 1863-??); Almeda(Mote)(1864-1951); and Joseph Aaron (1866-1950).
Jackson Madison Brown's father is "reported" to be Andrew Jackson Brown who married Caroline Crawford, probably in SC. Andrew Jackson Brown died in SC in 1827 when Jackson Madison Brown was a boy of 11 years of age. I am trying to verify this information regarding the parents of Jackson Madison Brown.
