William Ferguson (son of Josiah Ferguson) was born August 11, 1755 in Belfast, Down County, Ireland, and died date unknown.
Notes for William Ferguson: William served three years under Gen. George Washington. He was present at Yorktown when Cornwalace made his surrender. William had fought in the battles of Cow pens and Brandywine Military service 1791 Indian Nation War of 1791 William served under Daniel Boone. After the war William married Catharine and moved to Montgomery Co. Kentucky. Later they moved to Floyd Co. Kentucky on Grape Creek, near Salyerville. William was an Old Regular Baptist minister and helped to organize the churches in Floyd Co. William and Catharine are Buried on Grape Creek.
