I Heather Bryan, have been Researching my family tree since it was assigned as a project during junior year of high school. I would put my work aside for a few years and cone back and look at it agian. It is always exciting to add persons to your family tree. My Passion for geneology was rekindled when I purchased the Family Tree Maker CD. It is a good format to Keep your records straight. When researching I have traveled to the church where two of my great grandparents attended. While there I was able to make copies of the christening records of their families. This was an exciting day. The records were kept in Norwegen. Seeing the records also helped me confirm many dates of birth. I have also traveled to the county seat of Lasalle, County Illinois. There I found the naturalization papers of my great grandparents. Confirming your information is not only exciting and fun, but it is esential in giving your research credibility. My mothers side of the family the Johnson's have a family reunion every June since I can remember. This is a very special time. The decendents of my greatuncle Obe Johnson still operate the family farm. They have restored the Case tractor from the farm and two other tractors. the 2005 Johnson family reunion was held last weekend June 25, 2005. The attendence was down this is possibly related to the wheather which has been in the upper 90's for a few days prior to the event and also on the day of the event. The family softball game was getting starred when I left I was sorry to miss this event but my mother who we drove there was hell bent on leaving. So that we would not have to eat out for dinner. My priorities didn't match hers and we will go in separate vehicles next time. My fathers side of the family will be coordinating their reunion with the Anniversery of the Ottawa first church of the Nazarene, this comming August. I hope our uncle (my greatuncle) Hillard Logston is able to attend. He is currently staying in a the Lutheran home in town there. It would be cool for him to see everybody. The thing that the Hanson Family is the most proud of is the fact that the 11 children of Jonas Hanson 1884-1956, and Elizabeth Elterson. All of them became christians. The committment to high morals and careing about the souls and welfare of their fellow man is evident in the life choices and many of the careers of those living today. This summer my husband and two of our three children will be traveling to Minnisota. We will be attending of all things, the family reunion of his bestfriend. While away I plan to stop by Wadena, Minnisota to find the birth record of my maternal grandmother. How Exciting this will be. I love my husband for many reasons, but his support of my passsion to dig for my ansestors is a very attractive trait. One day I would like to travel to Friendsville, Maryland for the Gathering of friends and get with others in my family who I share a common ansestor with.
