In 1985, I received a telephone call from a neighbor telling me that a relative (a niece of my paternal grandparents) and her husband had both recently died. Another relative by marriage to the family had a box full of old photos and other paraphenalia and knew no other living Georges other than me. She did not know how to reach me, so she asked a neighbor if she would safekeep the box for me. My neighbor called telling me about the box. I vaguely remembered these relatives but due to a busy schedule, I did not pick up the box for a few weeks. When I opened the box, I did not realize it was going to lead me to 15 years of genealogical research. Wonderful old photos, the first part an original typed manuscript that was later published into a family history of the Georges, and many other treasures were in that old box. While this is by no means conclusive, mayhaps it will lead other links of the Philip George family to each other.
