Looking for origins of Ehmann's who came from Wuerttemberg. Benedict Ehmann, was born in Wuerttemberg in 1833. He and his wife Caroline, came in through New York in October, 1866, and settled in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts. They brought two children with them; Edward or Edwin and Caroline/Carrie born about 1864 in England. Three children were born in MA, Eleiser in 1867, Bertha in 1870 and George in about 1875. First wife, Caroline passed away and Benedict is next found in the 1880 census of Independence, Washington county, Texas, with his second wife, Elizabeth Deiss, born about 1855 in England. Two more children are born in TX, Richard Benedict in 1880 and Rosa Lee on 25 March 1882. Benedict and Eliza(beth) Ehmann divorced in Brown county, TX, in 1892. Benedict was in Joplin, Missouri from about 1900 until at least 1910. Sometime after he came to Shawnee, Oklahoma where he died in 1924. Looking for information on Benedict's parents, listed as John and Genevieve Ehmann on his marriage license to Elizabeth Deiss, Caroline's maiden name, and what happened to Edward/Edwin and Elieser.
