Bryan and Box were my parents' surnames, and have generated much historical interest for me during my entire lifetime. Hearing stories of where the earliest family members settled in America, why they might have come, what hardships they faced, where they came from, and who they were always peaked my curiosity. Additionally, I wondered about their character traits, persnalities, and contributions to society. In my quest to answer some of these questions, I began collecting fragments and scraps of information during the last four decades, and in the late 1990's,I began to "connect the dots" piecing information together provided to me by relatives. Many related family names and histories were also available on the internet. I now have the names of literally thousands of my ancestors and relatives, have learned a great deal more about American history in a more personal way, and have helped fulfill my mother's request, "Remember who you are." This is a tribute to my parents, Dr. Ollie Clifton Bryan, 1894-1970, and Aileen Mildred Box Bryan, 1897-1950. Mary Eugenia Bryan Harms, 2004 E-mail: Harmsfamly2@aol.com
