I have been looking for information on the paternal side of my family for a few years. My research has mostly been through census records which I have been able to find online. All of the elder Adamsons have passed away, leaving no additional means of finding information. My dad's family came to Arkansas from Southwestern Missouri. Before that they had lived in Kentucky.
My grandfather's name was Zed Adamson, and his father was Riley. Riley was the youngest of nine children, and his father's name was Alfred. I believe that Alfred's father's name was Johnathan. I know that Alfred fought in the Civil War, as local militia in Missouri. His oldest son Johnathan fought and died in the Civil War, and is buried at the Little Rock Military cemetery. I have pictures of his tombstone. I believe the next oldest son, Zed, may have also fought and died in that war. There is no other trace of him, after year 1860. I also believe that the next to the youngest son, William's family, may have moved to California, and a descendant of his, Edward Adamson, is a director/producer in Hollywood. I found an e-mail on the internet once, from the son of William, who lived in California. I believe he was elderly at the time, and I am unable to retrieve that e-mail information again. I have come to a stand still with any additional new information for a long time, and would greatly appreciate any help, which anyone can give me.
