The Fahnestalk - Van Buren Family

Updated November 9, 2000

About Our Family Research

From Fahrenstuch in Westphalia, Germany to Fahnestock in Darke County, Ohio to Fahnestalk in California: Earl E Fahnestalk married Edith Anna Van Buren. These are my mother's parents.
I have been tracing both lines, & have information back to the first American ancestor in these two lines, with some gaps that I am still trying to fill.
I also have some information on collateral lines: Shook & Boyd (for the Fahnestock/Fahnestalk line) & Cotner for Van Buren.
Peter Fahrenstuch left Westphalia (1600's) to avoid enforced recruitment into the Russian army. His four sons form the Fahnestock line. They first settled in Pennsylvania, then on to Darke County, Ohio, due to a gift of land from Elijia Shook, whose granddaughter married my great-grandfather.
Please contact me if: you want more information about these family lines, or if you have any information to add to mine.
Thank you: Glenda Buklis gatorgbb@gateway.net
