Several years ago I started the research on the Bumbaugh line and I never realized it would become such a "passion." I want to give special thanks to Mrs. Jay Bumbaugh for getting me started on the right foot. For many years as we traveled we always searched the phone books but had began to think we might be the only ones left. Then a brother-in-law brought me a brochure on "Bumbaugh's Since the Civil War" and I ordered it. I began to write to the people listed and contacted Mrs. Bumbaugh and after several letters, we realized we were from the same family line....
