Emil and Frank Gudt came to America in September of 1851 from Hamburg, Germany on a Spanish sail ship called the "Orlando." Their parents, Otto and Helene, stayed in Germany. Emil was 27 years old and Frank was 23 years old when they sailed for America. The area in Germany at that time was Prussion.

Emil and Frank did not arrive at Ellis Island. At this time it is unknown where they arrived.

Ellis Island, New York did not open to immigrants until 1890.

Frank Good was a pioneer framer of Old Railroad.

Frank and Mary had six children in the 37 years they were married. It is rumored they had another daugher who committed suicide by handing herself in the barn because her parents did not approve of her choice of husband (he wasn't Catholic). At the time, Catholics could only marry Catholics. So, consequently, it has been said there is a hex on the place where it happened -- the Homestead on Old Railroad (Charles and Elizabeth Good's Place till it was sold to Rolland Kromer). A search of the records, funeral homes, libraries, etc has found no basis of fact of this rumor.
