3) Vincent, born 14 May 1798 in Ohio and died on 7 August 1868 in Caldwell
Twp., Appanoose Co., Iowa. His wife was named Margaret, the former Margaret Mackey, daughter of Thomas and Mary Mackey. She was born on 6 March 1803 in Pennsylvania and died 2 June 1865 in Appanoose Co., Iowa. Another source gives her death date as 21 May 1865. They had nine children. Vincent was a farmer. In 1850, when he lived in Monroe Co., Wayne Twp., his real estate was valued at $300. Vincent was known as a hunter of some renown. He used to say,
"You show me a live squirrel and I'll show you a dead un." Vincent and his wife had moved to Iowa in 1864, neither living long thereafter. They are buried in the Zear Cemetery of Caldwell Twp., Appanoose County,Iowa.
a. William, born 1 September 1823 in Monroe Co., Ohio and married to
Charlotte Farnsworth on 11 March 1847. He died on 12 February 1899.
b. James, a farmer, born 17 June 1825 and died 14 May 1903. In the 1850 census, he is listed as being "deaf and dumb".
c. Mary Zillah, born 22 February 1829, married Oliver Sloan. She died on 13 Jan 1918."
d. Elizabeth, born 7 September 1830.
e. John McCellan, born 22 September 1833. He was a farmer and married to
Rebecca Hartshorn on 1 February 1855.
f. Nancy, born 9 June 1836, married Cornelius B. Cline on 7 April 1853.
Nancy died on 31 December 1924.
g. Margaret, born c. 1837.
h. Peter, born 22 August 1842 and fought in the Civil War. In a letter he
wrote during the war, he mentioned finding four cousins in Texas -John and
Alexander Brown, William Sling and James Howard. He married Amy Jane
Sloan on 21 March 1867. One source gives his birth as 4 years earlier.
i. Thomas, born 28 July 1845, and lived at Calais, Monroe Co., Ohio. In
1850, he is listed as "deaf and dumb".

j. Oliver, born 20 March 1849. He never married. He died on 8 September
1939.
