On the 5th day of September 1986 I was bitten by the Genealogy
Bug and started my research. I went to the libary everyday after
work to find my family. With a lot of help from friends and family I have managed to go back many hundred years.I am blessed to have been given many family picture in the 1800's.
We attend the Yancey - Medearis family reunion held in Greenville,Texas the second saturday in June since 1952. To a
Great surprise I found out I had married my 5th cousin after 31
years of marriage. Now the family reunion is realy SPECIAL to us
since it is Both sides of the family. One reunion get both sides of the families.I am the Yancey he is the Medearis side.
On 3 of Aug. 1963 I married the Love of my life Donald Hiram Butler and one year eighteen days later 21 Aug.1964 our first son was born Timmy Charles Butler who was named after my father Charlie Culberson Johnson and Don's father Timonthy Thomas Butler. Six years later our second son Steven Marcus Butler was born on the 9th of Sept. 1970 who was not named after any one. But if i had of been in to Genealogy he would have been named different.But to our joy our grandsons were named after some of the great grandparent. The surnames I am working on are: Allen,
Butler,Gallaher,Hardin,Johnson,Logan,Mc/Cloud,Medearis,Petty, Peavy,Yancey.
