Brett Butler and Lisa (Ellsworth) Butler are independently working on their respective family trees, bringing them together into one large volume. In addition to tracing their direct ancestors they are each working dilligently to research and document all related branches so that the project will benefit the greatest number of family members.
The project began in earnest in October of 2002 with the purchase of a new computer, Family Tree Maker Software and Genealogy.com subscription.
The project attempts not only to gather names and birth dates, but to significantly document details and most importantly gather stories, accomplishments and the information that will bring each ancestor to life.
Brett has very limited previously compiled information to begin with and each piece of the project thus far has been hard won through lengthy research. Lisa has a little more previously compiled information by other family members to begin with but still has considerable work ahead. Either way, we need the help of distant and not-so-distant relatives as there is only a limited amount of information available in public records.
