Robert P. Butler, born in Meadville, Crawford Co. PA in 1833, married Pricilla Oakes in Dover Ohio in 1854. They moved to Iowa and settled in Williamsburg, where he died. He had 7 children, the girl died in infancy and one boy died at 13. The rest lived long lives. We have had a family reunion with many cousins involved, children of Edward, Calvin, Eugene and Ulysses, and Lafayette. None of the children who are great grandchildren and grandchildren of Robert knows why they left PA and who Robert's parents are. The closest I have come is James in the Crawford Co. census in 1810-1840. There is also in the census, reference to William Butler, a hero of the revolution. It says in one book he died in 1837 and was buried beside his son in the Old Harmonsburg cemetery. The question is, could the son be Robert Perry's father, and why did he preceed his father in death? In this census there were 2 other women in the house, one 20-30 and one 40-50 and William and his wife 80-90, beside a male child no other men shown.
