I am a granddaughter of Lura Margaret BENJAMIN Newland. She was one of eleven children of Richard Lane BENJAMIN and Margaret Isebel PALMER, both born in Licking County, Ohio. My research has started with names written on the backs of photos showing the family living in Grays Point, Lawrence County Missouri also there was mention of Red Oak, Missouri. Lura married Cecil Leon Newland and lived in Nebraska where they had five children - Ceceil Leon Newland Jr., Norma Nell Newland Adams, Ina Earl Newland Beard, Jo Ellen Newland Hartzog, and George Newland. This family moved "Out West" by way of the railroad to Longview, Washington abt. 1941.
