I have found that there are a number of Butler families in the State of Michigan. Some related -- some unrelated. I started this research on "our family" about nine years ago (1997) while I was still in the Michigan National Guard. I was so interested I went to the city of Pontiac library and started looking up information. About two years ago 2004) David and Laurie gave me the Family Tree Maker as a Christmas gift. I played around with it for a while and put it on the shelf and didn't touch it until now (July 30, 2006). Laurie and David just recently (June 2006) bought their own copy, after returning from Ireland, and called me to gather some information and got me interested in the program again. I also gather information at our annual family reunions. Names, places, events, etc. I gather even more information from relatives like Gerry Wilkison, Uncle Marty and Aunt Vida's grandson who plays golf on the same league as I do. As for now I started a notebook with information that I will continue to add to as it becomes available. I hope this note book I have started will be of interest to anyone who looks at it and tries to understand our family heritage.
