My research has been a work in progress and continues to be the same. I am looking for any information that can be found on my G-Great Grandfather William Solomon Butrum. I have located him in Tenn where he was married to Malinda Thomas. I also know that he was a Blacksmith and served in the Civil war on the confederate side. He was at one time stationed in Atlanta Ga. He was captured by the Uniom Army and was a Prisoner of War incarcerated in Ohio
This family has been in the state of Missouri since shortly after the Civil war. I have been able to locate Names and Information on all his family but nothing on him.
I have come to believe that Since his family came to Mo. from a place called Moccasin Bend Tn. that he may have been a resident of a home for the mentally ill in Chattanooga Tn that was known by the name, "Moccasin Bend".
