I have been researching my fathers side of my family tree for many years now, without a lot of success. Thanks to a wonderful gentleman in Texas, I had been able to add quite a bit of hisotry to the BUTT history, but, of course, am still searching for more.
Stephen BUTT,(son of Joseph BUTT and Patience FRENCH)m. Ann Thorne, they had eight children that I know of: Alexander, Joseph, Annie, Sibella,John Archibald, Providence, Selina and Elizabeth.
Alexander BUTT was my GGrandfather, he married Henrietta PYNN and they had nine children: Mildred, Ada, Elizabeth, Doris and Rupert (twins),Alexander,Olive, Frederick and Isabel (not necessarily in that order. He was a Captain in the Merchant Marines on the ship James Charles.
They married in Harbour Grace, NL. Alexander in buried in the Anglican Cemetery in Harbour Grace and Henrietta is buried in Hardwood Hill Cemetery in Sydney, NS.
Any info regarding any of the above listed families would be appreciated.
