About Our Family Research

I am one individual in my family, who is interested in finding my
ancestors.
In Ireland, one can only go back to a great great grandfather
officially, due to the fact that the Irish Civil War took place
in the Four Courts Dublin in 1922.This was the official depositary for family records. The building was attacked with a
piece of artillery and consequently was burned to the ground,to-
gether with its precious documents.
However, there are various ways around the problem and the experienced can play a few tricks e.g visiting the locale of relatives and searching graveyards.Church records are another way
around the problem.
It goes without saying that initially, the investigator must get as much information from living relatives, the older the better,
Record everthing,it may not be quite correct, but every little piece can help, just like the detective building up a case.
