About Our Family Research

This research started after Dad passed away in 1997. I had no clue to my family beyond my great grandfather Robert Lewis Bybee and wife Mary M.Maddox. Since then my daughter found a lady in Quincy, Il who was able to send me further back. i have been to Barren Co Ky to look and would like to go to Virginia to do some research. I have been in contact with several relatives I've met through this research and hope to do more. I realize not all info on the web is true, it still opens up so many new possibilities with me just sitting here at home on my computer.
I have also been to the LDS in Independence, Mo and looked at some of their records but need to send for more details. I have not done anything for a couple of years and need to get started again.
I will be glad to help anyone with my branch of the Bybee clan.

Robert L and Mary M.Maddox Bybee came from Barron Co. Ky with two children between 1850 and 1854 to Henry Co, Mo. They settled in the very southern part of Osage Township, helped start Park Grove Christian church in St. Clair Co (Still there). and later moved to some land which is east of present day Deepwater, Mo. which may or may not have been there at the time. I'll have to check on those dates. This couple had a total of 10 children and they scattered all over. A brother to Robert came to Leesville,Mo shortly after Robert came but he eventially went to Illinois. and I have his lineage also plus a contact person.
