Although much has been written of the Byington family history, dating back to Bartholomew De Boynton, one of William the Conqueror's men, who seized the Manor of Boynton in the year 1067. Bartholomew was born around the year 1020.
Most of the Byingtons in the U.S. descend from one man, John (Boynton) Byington who changed his name after receiving a land grant from the King of England -- the land grant mis-spelled his name, and it was easier to change his name than send the grant back to England to be re-issued. John Byington was born in the year 1676, second generation born in America. John (Boynton) Byington had 10 children (Hannah, David and Jonathon-twins, Robert-died in infancy, Nathaniel, Jane, Mary, Daniel, John and Robert).
Not so much is know of this branch of the Byington Family Tree. Hopefully with the generous help of others this branch can find it's way back to the rest of the tree!
