About Our Family Research

My Grandfather was William Hensley Terna. I heard his father was Cherokee, Indian and was working on a railroad trestle, fell and drowned, somewhere in Tennessee. His mothers name was Easter Miriah Phillips, Greene. She brought my grandfather, by wagon to the Alabam, Coushatta Camp. I know she had a son named Dee Phillips. I don't know anything about this union, but He was a half brother to Wm. Terna. Uncle Dee told my Mother, Dollie Mae Hein that my grandfather was 7 years older. By insurance records he was 98 years old. But if the story is true my grandfather was 105 at his death.` Doctor Easter married a confederate doctor named ? Greene or green. She also was called Doctor Easter. She received a pension of a considerable amount. I do have a picture of her. She weighed about 98 pounds, soak and wet. She threw a temper tantrum and went and laid in the snow. My grandfather went and carried back in the house. she caught pneumonis and died. My mother said she was mean as a snake. Wm.Hensley Terna married Lela Eva Porter. They had 10 children, 9 girls and 1 boy. I'm still researching. Thanks, Brenda Byles
