GREETINS; For many years the search for the 'WOOTEN HISTOY & ROOTS' has truely grown. We first started off with a single son, picnics under a single tree, and much love for the family. Finding family members started off by a simple invatation to a family picnic at my grandfather's farm. (George Wooten, w. Edith Cathy) located on the Tate/Marshall County Road in Mississippi. As the family grew we started hosting reunions in Memphis, Tn. and Chicago, Ill. After a few years the second branch arose, (Elijah Wooten, w. Georgia Walls.) The reunions grew larger and Ark. Oh. Va. were added. In 2004 two more brances were discovered, Mollie Wooten h. Bennie Wilson and Mary Wooten h. Lawrence Echols. A reunion was held in Wis. and found itself back to our home state of Ms. in 2005. This year 2006 will be hosted in Sandusky, Ohio. "Amazing Grace How Sweet The Sound" more Wooten, (W)ooten are in Detriot, Mich. has contacted me and we are currently sharing our researches. They will be joining us in Sandusky!!! It is believed that my GG Grandfather could have had siblings in central Ms. and may have been born in Al. and settled in West Point, Ms. in the early 1800's. Please if you think you are connected with our family tree, and have info. contact me.
