Samual Salts (son of Samual Salts and Sarah Jordon) was born 1840 in Vinton County, Ohio, and died August 28, 1866 in Raysville, Vinton county, Ohio.

Served in the Civil War, Co. K of the 61st Ohio Regiment and Co. I of the 82nd Ohio Regiment. He was wounded in the Battle of Peach Tree Creek, Georgia, on August 5, 1864, and lost an arm by amputation.
He died in August, 1866, as a result of a fall from a horse. His mother applied for pension based on his service record.
