Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

About Our Family Research
There are Carters, Cokes (Cockes), Greggs, Deadricks on my side of the family. Holleys, Abbeys, Ballentines, and Blairs on my wife's side. My mother told me that my grandfather changed the spelling of his name from Cocke to Coke when he was tired of having his name mispronounced too often. My grandmother (his wife) was a Gregg, which I had been told was a Danish name, but have since found that it is also Scots, related to MacGregor. My family is from Virginia and Missouri/Kansas, and my wife's people are mainly in New Jersey.
