About Our Family Research

Nathaniel Cottle was born at Martha's Vineyard but soon traveled to Nova Scotia where he married Catharine Jerusha Fletcher in 1781. They were found living in Queens County, New Brunswick in 1783. Eleven children were born to this union, 3 sons and 8 daughters. The three sons names were: Granville, Isaac and Nathaniel. The daughters names were: Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth, Olive, Maltida Ann, Catharine, Alvoretta and one unknown as of yet.

There is a story told that when Nathaniel died his three sons had an arguement one day and scattered. Isaac left and his family is found in Michigan. Granville never married and Nathaniel B. stayed and cared for his mother and 6 sisters still living at home.

Most of Nathaniel Cottle's family has returned to the United States but there are still a few that continue to live in Queens County, New Brunswick and in the surrounding area.
