I am the first generation of my family to be born in the USA, and have always been interested in genealogy. However, I have never been able to find any information regarding my relatives who were Germans living in Lodz, Poland. I know the most information about my grandparents, but beyond that, it gets pretty sketchy. I have been told that there was a large community of Germans living in Lodz, and that this city also suffered some of the worst destruction during WWII. Perhaps most of the records were destroyed. But I hope that somewhere there is a distant relative that is just as interested in this family as I am, and can someday supply me with much desired information!
