Have data for Yellis Kassel of Kreigsheim, Germany to resettling of sons to PA and to venture into VA of his ancestora and beyond. Interested in growing my tree and sharing with others working on this same line or have relatives/linking to this line. The first Kassel was a Mennonite Minister and poet of sorts in Germany during the persecution resulting from the Reformation. Worms and Kreigshiem, De were refuge cities for them prior to the invitation of the family to PA. Initially the descendents settled in Germantown, PA, and one was a signer of the original Town Charter of Germantown. This line includes the "illusive" Jacob Castle, of VA, and his marriage with Sowege, an Indian maiden of the Shawnee Tribe in PA. Jacob was said to have been the first white man to venture into SW VA from the New River Area and Castlewood, VA (Castle's Woods in Jacob's days) still bears his name although the State of Virginia has not given him any recognition for his accomplishments.
