I began my family research when my parents passed away in the 1990s and my children would never know their grandparents. Since I loved all my grandparents and had wonderful memories of them, I wanted to recreate my children's grandparents' lives for them. I hope that someday they will want to know more about their heritage. I started with a set of names in my mother's Bible of her parents and my father's parents. Then she had listed the names and dates of their grandparents. From there, I started researching on the Internet, made connections with other distant family members who were also on the Internet and began researching in libraries and the Archives. As a result, I have become a member of DAR, UDC and am working on a certification in genealogy. I am very proud of every branch of my family and am happy to be saving this information for future generations.
