I began my family research in July 1995. My mother shared much information with me and I found material at the local library in Boone, NC I also made contact with a local historian in Rockingham, NC who knew of my ggggrandfather, Jeremiah Casey, who had lived in Richmond County NC from 1796 to 1810. Carol McLean helped me find a distant cousin on the Internet, Sam J. Casey, Jr. Sam already had gathered much genealogical material on Jeremian and his children. I learned about my gggrandfather, Lemual Casey, whom I had not known of before. This study has been very rewarding to me and I hope to have some family home pages on the internet soon.
