I'm just starting out in this endeavour. My family is pretty spread out across the U.S., including Alaska. I've just recently done some quick research on my father, Leland Castle, who originates from Portsmouth, Ohio. His mother Mary, (nee Hansgen),is from Hales Creek, Ohio. From there I'm not sure we go. My mother, Joan Oldani, originates from Grosse Ile, Michigan. Her father and mother are from Michigan and Missouri, respectively, but I need to gather further info on them as well.
My Dad's late brother has traced the Castle family back to a town called Kassell, Germany, where we actually have a coat of arms. I'm told he got as far back as the 1600's! Unfortunately he passed on before I became interested in following my roots.
