Six boys named STEWART, the sons of Robert and Annie Stewart of Aghagaskin, Magherafelt, Co. Londonderry, N. Irelandemigrated to Australia in the late 19th early 20th century. their names were John, James, William, Charles, Richard and Henry. Their father, Robert, died in 1912 and is buried at 1st Magherafelt Presbyterian churchyard. In 1914, their mother, Annie decided to go to Austraila to visit her sons. Whilst there the 1st World War broke out and she was unable to return. In 1918, when in her seventies, she was thrown from a horse and fractured a leg. She never really recovered from this and died in 1923. She is buried in Australia. I have no idea where they resided in Australiaand I would love to trace descendants of this family. Mrs Annie Stewart was my great-grandmother and I would like to visit her burying place. I know that Charles married and had a family, John and Robert. Charles and his wife, Martha visited Northern Ireland in about 1953 and whilst on holiday there, Martha died and is buried in St. Swithin's burying ground, Magherafelt. Richard was also married and had eight children, two of whom were named Winifred and Robert. John, James and william were also believed to have married but it is not known if they had any family. Apparently Henry never married. If anyone in Australia has knowledge of this family, would they please get in touch as I would love to hear from them.
