Anderson A Castleman is in 1850 Johnson Co MO census(House #56 Cavitt},as stockhand age 27,b MO.The only other official record ever found is 1851 Johnson Co marriage to Amanda Jane Travis, who is also in 1850 census under JC Travis. The family bible has them parents of James Blandford Castleman. Amanda Jane remarried John Lawson in 1853, after Anderson A dies "at sea". That marriage is confirmed in Johnson Co MO marriage files, family bibles and is seen in subsequent Kerr and Hayes Co, TX census records. The Japonica Cemetary near Hunt, TX and the Liveoaks Cemetary at Brady, TX has has many direct family members.
I have researched over 30 years for parents of Anderson A Castleman, which has provided extensive Castleman and related family archives. I would be happy to trade or pay for his parentage. Currently seeking possible German connection thru Alexander, son of Jacob and Patience, who in 1830 MO census has son age 5-10, when Anderson was seven. However, knowing first name was Anderson, and assuming family bible correctly uses (A) for Armstrong, it makes a very English family name arriving in USA thru ports in Boston, NY,Baltimore or Philladelphia.
