My ancestors were Scotch Quakers who migrated to N.I. to escape religious persecution. John Darling and his brothers Henry, Charles and Adam are said to be sons of a mayor of Glasgow who built they're own ship (Lyons Whelp)John's son Capt. John Darling of Nantucket,MASS. sailed the first whaler from the island. His sons: Hamilton b.1744 m. Catherine Jayne of Smithtown,NY
John b.1746 m. Sarah Hussey of Nantucket,Mass
Adam b.1754 m. Ruth Jayne (Catherine's sister)
Although Hamilton and Adam married sisters and their children married Johns children I am without proof that they were all three brothers OR if their fathers name was John or Adam. John lived in Mass. Adam and Hamilton in Smithtown,Long Island NY.
