Update: February 22, 2005: DISCOVERY!! Last Memorial Day, 2004, I was so excited to stand near the resting place of GrGrandmother, Emily Laura, and Great Grandfather, Ozias Elmer FOX. There are no markers but records show their interment there NEAR GrGrGrandparents: Chauncy D and Huldah E. LYON Blanchard. Even more exciting is that, although no sign of the house is visible from the road, I was so awestruck to be standing along the fenceline of the Home Place BLANCHARD north and just east of Athol, Smith County, Nebraska. It is now wheatfields but there is a grove of trees and the present owner told me that he thought that might have been where the original Home was built. Our Gr8Grandmother, Emily Laura BLANCHARD Fox (b. June 1856 according to Census) shows as widow in Lane Township, Smith County, Kansas. She resided there along with my Grandmother, Hattie Bell FOX (m. George Withrow CASE in Phillipsburg, KS), and Ernest Garfield FOX. In the Smith County Courthouse are land records with FOX Family land records. It was so EXCITING to see that!! I could not have discovered all that I did without a wonderful Lady in Athol. Her letter and the newspaper clipping announcing the Marriage of my Paternal Grandparents George and Hattie FOX Case is such a treasure.
