We have a huge family so I will try my best to give you as much information as I can. First of all my Grandfather on my father's side of the family is Francisco Castillo and he was married to my grandmother Petra Garcia Castillo. What I was told years go was that my Great Grandfather stowed away on a ship from Italy to Mexico where he married my Greatgrandmother(not sure of name yet...later date). According to the stories told they migrated north, some as far north as New York and Chicago. My Grandmother and Grandfather lived on a border town named Roma/Los Suanz now known only as Roma, Texas. I loved going there as a child, the smell, the calichi roads, the farmers with their wagons and horses, the stars that shone so bright you felt as if you could touch them. You have to understand this was back in the early sixties and seventies, many things have changed since then. My grandmother never worked and bore 14 children 2 were still born and the others were miscarriages, most of the children were born in her home....they were very poor and no hospitals or doctors close enough to the small town they were born and raised in so the death amoung the elderly and infants were very high. OK Let me start with My Aunt Lupe Castillo Alaniz, Jose F. Castillo(my father), Aunt Irma Castillo Canales, Uncle Carlos Castillo, Aunt Yolanda Castillo Ramos, Aunt Graciela Maria Castillo, Uncle Ruben Castillo, and Aunt Sylvia Castillo 11and Uncle Rene Castillo 13 whom I never met because they tragically drowned in the Rio Grande River at very young ages Josefita Castillo was one of the babies that died.Unfortunately we have not had a family reunion in many, many years but hope that will change very soon. Thank you, Maria Teresa Castillo Daughter of Jose F. Castillo and Rosa Maria Garza Castillo
